Deputy Director of Technology

The Deputy Director of Technology serves as the operational leader of TNM’s Technology Department, implementing the Director’s strategic vision through effective daily management and coordination. This role ensures that all departmental functions are aligned, secure, and efficient. As second-in-command, the Deputy Director oversees cross-functional technology projects, provides operational guidance to team leaders, and drives improvements across TNM’s digital platforms, tools, and data infrastructure to support the organization’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the Technology Department to ensure all systems and platforms function efficiently.
  • Project Coordination: Lead cross-functional technology projects, ensuring timelines, resources, and objectives are met.
  • Support Team Leaders: Provide operational support to team leaders, ensuring they have the resources needed to execute projects successfully.
  • Optimize Technology Infrastructure: Continuously evaluate and improve TNM’s technology infrastructure, enhancing security, usability, and reliability.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with the Director to allocate resources effectively, balancing immediate needs with long-term departmental goals.
  • Maintain Data Integrity: Ensure data systems and databases remain secure, accurate, and accessible to support TNM’s broader mission.

Estimated Time Requirements

  • Weekly Commitment: 10-15 hours per week.
  • Project Oversight: As needed to support technology projects and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Monthly Review: Participation in a monthly operational review with the Technology Director.

Skills/Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in technology operations, including project management and cross-functional coordination.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to support and guide teams in achieving project goals.
  • Expertise in data management, security practices, and optimizing digital infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective cross-departmental collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CRM and database systems used in member-driven organizations.
  • Background in a non-profit or mission-driven environment, particularly in a volunteer capacity.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and cybersecurity best practices.
