Libertarian Party Liaison

The Libertarian Party Liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key leaders within the Libertarian Party of Texas, including the State Chair, Co-Chair, State Libertarian Executive Committee (SLEC), and County Chairs. This role focuses on integrating TNM’s legislative goals into the Libertarian Party’s platform and priorities by engaging and educating party leadership on the benefits of Texas independence. The liaison plays a crucial role in securing Libertarian Party support for TEXIT and other TNM-backed legislative measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Relationships with Libertarian Party Leadership – Develop and maintain open communication with the State Chair, Co-Chair, SLEC members, and County Chairs to advocate for TNM’s mission.
  • Attend SLEC Quarterly Meetings – Represent TNM at Libertarian Party meetings to establish relationships and influence party policies.
  • Recruit and Train a Convention Coordinator – Identify and prepare a dedicated Convention Coordinator to ensure TNM has a strong presence at party conventions.
  • Track and Document Party Engagement – Maintain a database of Libertarian Party leaders, recording conversations, levels of support for TEXIT, and Texas First Pledge signers.
  • Advocate for TNM in the Party Platform – Work to secure the inclusion of a TEXIT referendum and other TNM-backed policies in the Libertarian Party’s official platform and legislative priorities.

By building strong relationships within the Libertarian Party of Texas, the Libertarian Party Liaison helps TNM expand its political influence and secure broader bipartisan support for Texas independence. This role ensures that TNM-backed legislation is integrated into the Libertarian Party’s policy agenda, increasing advocacy efforts for a TEXIT referendum and related legislative measures.

Remote, with required travel to SLEC meetings, county Libertarian events, and TNM advocacy efforts.

Estimated Time Requirements

  • Ongoing: 10-15 hours per week for outreach, relationship-building, and documentation.
  • Quarterly Meetings: Additional time commitment for travel and engagement at SLEC meetings.
  • Convention Season: Increased time commitment to coordinate TNM’s presence at Libertarian Party conventions.

Skills/Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the Libertarian Party structure and processes.
  • Experience in political advocacy, lobbying, or party engagement.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with political leaders and grassroots activists.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Ability to train and lead volunteers in political engagement efforts.
  • Organizational skills to maintain records of outreach and measure engagement success.
  • Commitment to TNM’s mission and legislative priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience serving in or working with the Libertarian Party (e.g., SLEC member, County Chair).
  • Prior involvement in Texas political conventions and party platform development.
  • Knowledge of key influencers and decision-makers within the Libertarian Party.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
