Republican Party Liaison

The Republican Party Liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships within the Republican Party of Texas (RPT), focusing on engaging the State Chair, Vice-Chair, and key party leadership. This role involves recruiting and training liaisons at multiple levels within the party structure to advocate for TNM’s legislative priorities and educate Republican officials on the benefits of Texas independence. The liaison works to integrate TNM’s mission into the Republican Party platform and legislative priorities, ensuring a strong pro-TEXIT presence within the party.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Relationships with Republican Party Leadership – Establish and maintain direct communication with the Republican State Chair, Vice-Chair, and State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) members to advocate for TNM’s goals.
  • Recruit and Train Republican Liaisons – Identify and train an SREC Liaison, Republican County Executive Committee (CEC) Liaisons, and a Convention Coordinator to facilitate TNM’s influence at every level of the party.
  • Attend Republican Party Events – Represent TNM at SREC quarterly meetings and other Republican Party gatherings to foster relationships and advocate for TNM-backed legislative measures.
  • Develop and Execute Republican Outreach Strategies – Create plans to educate party members on Texas independence and work towards securing their support for TNM initiatives.
  • Track and Document Party Engagement – Maintain a detailed database of Republican County Chairs, Precinct Chairs, and other officials who have signed the Texas First Pledge, along with their contact information.
  • Influence the Republican Party Platform – Advocate for the inclusion of pro-TEXIT and other TNM legislative measures in the Republican Party’s platform and legislative priorities.

By strategically engaging Republican leaders, party committees, and grassroots organizers, this role advances TNM’s legislative agenda, increases public support for a TEXIT referendum, and strengthens the movement’s political positioning within Texas politics.

Remote, with required travel to SREC meetings, county Republican events, and TNM advocacy efforts.

Estimated Time Requirements

  • Ongoing: 10-15 hours per week, including outreach, communication, and training.
  • Quarterly Meetings: Additional travel and engagement during SREC and other major Republican events.
  • Convention Season: Increased time commitment to coordinate TNM’s presence and influence in Republican conventions.

Skills/Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the Republican Party structure, rules, and internal processes.
  • Experience in political advocacy, lobbying, or party engagement.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with Republican leaders and grassroots activists.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Ability to train and lead volunteers in political engagement efforts.
  • Organizational skills to maintain records of outreach and measure engagement success.
  • Commitment to TNM’s mission and legislative priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience serving in or working with the Republican Party (e.g., Precinct Chair, County Chair, SREC member).
  • Prior involvement in Texas political conventions and party platform development.
  • Knowledge of key power brokers and influencers within the Republican Party.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
